13-2-25 Young people with a stoma “Since being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2004 I have spent quite a bit of time in hospital with operations and stuff. The first op came along quite quickly and left me with an ileostomy. Being 17, I was horrified so jumped at the chance of reversing the ileostomy by having a pouch, which they did after a few months recovery. In this That was the hard stuff over and done with, and it’s not all doom, gloom and morphine - throughout the ops I managed to make the most of the opportunity to be lazy, play on the playstation and have breakfast in bed, but also continued working most of the time.
